At home in Phoenix, Arizona with my own growing family. I love the beautiful mess of real life, and deeply honor the journey into motherhood.
When I photograph you and the people you love most, the people you joined together with, and the ones you steward, I don’t want you to be confined to a pair of new shoes and a well-manicured field.
I want to document your life as you know it, life as you live it every day. A real, raw, honest reflection of the journey so far.
Parents perform the most delicate task of raising children. Photographs are the best way to remember how it felt when the days were too short and you thought there was still time before summer break and first cars and graduations.
The most sacred space, the thinning of the veil, the screaming entrance of a new soul. In birth you are connected to a deep ancestral knowing, and those lucky enough to surround you bear witness to the lineage continued through your womb. I will be honored to document your resilience.
Due to the kismet timing of mother earth I will only be taking on a select few births every year.
The decision to trudge through the beauty and pain of birth is heavy-handed, a bittersweet loss of self in exchange for something greater than we can imagine. Childhoods covered in wet clay and blackberry bush scratches are left to fickle memories and a handful of photographs with worn, tattered edges from where they stayed on the fridge for not long enough.
As I venture into motherhood, I feel deeply called to birth photography. Unfortunately this is a difficult area to navigate for many, especially for my local LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. My heart, mind, and business are open and fully welcoming to you. I am fully-inclusive of all birthing people and cherish those who celebrate the beautiful nature of birth in its many forms.
